Jewelry Trends for Autumn/Winter 2026–27: What to Wear Now
· 3 min read
Every season the runways and the feeds agree on a handful of jewellery ideas, and this autumn they agree more than usual. Less tiny and precious, more pieces with weight and movement — worn several at a time, in whatever metal you like.
Here are the trends worth knowing for autumn/winter 2026–27, what each one looks like on a normal Tuesday, and how to wear them under a coat, a scarf and gloves.

1. Gold and silver, together
The old rule about never mixing metals is gone. This season the most current hand wears both: a gold chain with a silver one, a silver bangle beside gold rings, or a single piece that already combines the two.
The trick is to make it look intended: repeat each metal at least twice, or let one piece that mixes both tie everything together.
2. Bold chains
Fine chains aren't going anywhere, but the chain that gets noticed this winter is chunkier: wide curb links, rounded links, chains you can see over a knit from across the room.
Wear one on its own on a crewneck or a black turtleneck — it does the work of a necklace and a statement at once. On the wrist, a thick chain bracelet replaces a watch.
3. Long necklaces, layered
After several seasons of short chains at the collarbone, length is back. The new layering mixes one long chain that falls to the chest with one or two shorter ones — a thin chain with a pendant, a heavier link above it.
- Keep 5 to 10 cm between each layer so they don't tangle.
- Vary the thickness: one fine, one bold.
- Over the knit, not under it: autumn is when long necklaces get seen.
4. Sculptural bangles and cuffs
Arm cuffs and open bangles are one of the fastest-growing searches of the year. A smooth, slightly sculptural cuff in gold or silver looks finished on a bare wrist and slides over a sleeve when it's cold.
Stack two or three thin bangles in the same metal, or wear a single wide cuff on its own — not both on the same wrist.
5. Statement earrings and the curated ear
Hair up, collars high: winter is earring season. Sculptural hoops and bold drops are the statement; for everyday, the curated ear continues — two or three small pieces per ear, plus an ear cuff that needs no piercing.
6. Pieces with a meaning
Charm bracelets are back, and behind them a bigger idea: jewellery you choose for a reason and keep on. A ring for a birthday, a chain you never take off, a piece that marks a year. Fewer, more personal pieces — worn every day rather than kept for occasions.
Also around this season
Pearls worn in a less formal way, colourful stones, and vintage-looking pieces from a family jewellery box. They mix well with everything above: a pearl or a coloured stone beside a bold gold chain is very this year.
Wearing jewellery in winter
- Scarves and knits snag: smooth links and closed rings catch less than open settings and prongs.
- Hand cream and hand gel every day: plated jewellery dulls fast; 316L stainless steel with PVD gold just needs a wipe.
- Rain, snow and cold don't matter to waterproof steel — no taking it off at the door.
- Fingers shrink in the cold: a ring that feels loose outside is usually your right size indoors.
