A 5-Piece Jewellery Capsule: Everything You Need, Nothing You Don’t
· 2 min read
A jewellery box full of pieces you never wear is a common problem. A capsule fixes it: a few pieces that go with everything, worn every day, so getting dressed takes no decisions.
Five is enough. Here they are, and why.

The five
- A fine chain, 45 cm: on the collarbone, under a shirt or over a T-shirt, alone or layered.
- Small hoops or huggies: the earrings you sleep in.
- A plain or interlinked band: the ring that never comes off.
- A second, thinner ring: for stacking with the first, or alone on another finger.
- One statement piece: a cocktail ring, a cuff or a chunky chain, for the days you want more.
One metal or two
Start in the metal that suits you, gold or silver, so everything goes together. Or choose a two-tone piece for the band, and you can wear both metals with it.
Why it has to be waterproof
A capsule only works if the pieces stay on: in the shower, at the gym, in the sea. If you have to take them off, they end up on a sink, and you are back to choosing every morning. 316L steel with PVD gold is made for that.
Then add slowly
Once the five are worn every day, add one piece at a time, for a gap you notice: a pendant for low necklines, a second chain for layering. A small capsule that is worn beats a big box that isn’t.
